| Waiting4_You said When I joined this site August 2000, I never really thought I could actually meet my match. Well, little to my surprise on September 12, 2000, I received a cupid message and I responded accordingly. This man and I email each other for about a week. We exchanged photo's on September 15th, and on September 23rd 2000 we decided to meet. And when I saw him, I knew he was the one for me. He has all the attributes I am looking for in my mate. And the best part, he lives walking distance from me. "True love is really only around the corner". So far, we're happy together. And we look forward to getting married some day in the near future. If there is just one piece of advice I can give to others it would be to spend a LOT of time in compiling your profile. Be brutally honest and direct in your profile even if some of it is really weird or whatever. What you are looking for is someone who matches you and loves you for who you are and leaving critical information out of your profile will make things very difficult for you later. The aim should be that if a person does contact you after having read your entire profile then they have already accepted you and feel that they match your requirements. I met my man quite by accident as he was sort of involved with someone at the time which so was I but nothing greatly serious. We began chatting in March through a mutual friend and found that we had alot in common. After a few months I decided to meet this gorgeous man and so I flew to the States and we met in Anaheim. I actully felt very silly as I joined the chatroom with three other members. Being a novice and not knowing what to do I asked the person with the friendliest nickname what to do. His nick name was smiler67. Anyway we chatted in a private chat that evening for four hours. The next day he had sent me an e-mail. By the following week we were calling telephonically. I began chatting with Daytona409 and we became very good online friends. We decided that we would meet and I will be honest, he stood me up the first time that we were supposed to meet. We finally met a few days later. (I don't give up easily) It was not love at first sight, but we enjoyed talking to each other and decided to get to know each other better. Well, we have been together now since April 14th and he is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. I love him with all my heart and he is my world. He lets me be who I am and loves me for who I am. One day we plan to get married, but for now we are just as happy with together forever. I was not interested in anyone from Texas, being from "Cool California" and wrote him back some flippant responses. However, he perservered, and his answers were fun, intelligent and clever. We kept emailing, until finally I gave him my phone number. He called immediately, and we have been speaking on the phone for about an hour each night. We finally met when he had a business trip to California, and the best thing was that there were "no surprises." We were who we said we were in our profiles. I didn't know what I'd think of him. I loved chatting with him, but one never knows what the person would be like in person. Would he be a dork? Would he be too old? Would he be too tall? Would he have weird mannerisms? Would I be attracted to him physically/sexually? These are things that one cannot discern over the telephone or email. We hit it off. He came to visit me a couple of weeks later. Then he sent me tickets to visit him. And then again the following weekend. We have been so comfortable together from day one and feel that we have built a very strong base. We are madly in love with one another and know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together. We both got onto FriendFinder, not because we could not find dates on our own in person, but because we just wanted to have some fun. We are so similar in likes, attitudes, etc. We've never felt so passionate about another person, yet we also have great fun and fondness. We both feel greatly blessed. Thank you, FriendFinder.
