Back in February/March of 1999, I was very skeptical about the whole FriendFinder thing. Boy was I ever wrong! I included a success story not too long after I moved in with Larenz79. We have spent a whole year together and it has been a most wonderful, awesome year! This is the update from last September/October 1999.
Last week....June 2000....we took a trip to Niagara Falls and had a great time! It's the first time we'd ever gone away by ourselves (without family or friends). He took me to the Skylon Tower in Niagara
Falls for dinner at 8:30. The sky was so beautiful. We got there in time to see the rainbow still on the falls, the sunset and the lights on the falls.
After dinner, we went upstairs to the observation deck and walked around for awhile. And not too long after that we stopped. At that point he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! That will be a night I never forget as long as I live. We are planning our wedding for next summer 2001.
To all of those who are skeptical...it's ok, but I am not anymore. If it hadn't been for a friend suggesting friendfinder, I never would have met Larry, the most wonderful man in my life. I live in a very rural area where there are not a lot of places to meet people your own age and FriendFinder is just the ticket for people in that situation. I am now removing my profile from FriendFinder completely. Thanks!

I never thought that I would really find a good friend on friend finder, but I did. I met someone and we got to know each other over the computer. We finally decided to meet and we had a lot of fun. We get together every week or so and we still have the most amazing fun. Friend finder really works.

The second day we talked for 12 and a half hours. Anyway it has been only a week and we are planning on meeting and maybe more. My new love is so great he bought my bus ticket and I am going to michigan on June 4th. I'm about to remove my profile, but first I wanted to thank FriendFinder for allowing me to find the man who is now my fiance. I joined in 1998, hoping to talk to some people in Scotland before I traveled there as a chaperone with a group of high school students. While I spoke with a number of people, both male and female, when my (now) fiance and I began talking a few months before my trip, something clicked. In October 1999, for a lark at at the urging of my sisters, I joined Friend Finder. In February 2000 I began, only as a pen pal, corresponding with a charming retired Naval officer from Australia. We have much in common and after speaking often on the telephone and corresponding weekly, we are making plans to meet later this year. We would like it to be sooner but work commitments won't allow it. The first time I visited the Friend Finder webpage and read the success stories I thought: “yeah right, I am sure these stories are written by the people who created this website themselves, this can’t be true”...
Now I suppose it would be fair enough to admit that I was wrong and that, on the contrary, this is one of the coolest sites on the whole net. When I joined the FF I never thought that it would give me the opportunity of meeting one of the worthiest persons I have ever met. In the beginning we just exchanged mails but, as time went by, we started to move into a more personal field until I couldn’t wait any longer to meet him in person. Therefore I decided to take a plane and cross the Atlantic Ocean and what I found there was a fascinating amazing discovery: a latino trapped in a Swedish skin.
Even if I don’t know yet what will happen in the future between us (if it was for me I would marry him straight away), I will never forget the emotion that both of us felt when we finally met at the airport: he was trembling with excitement and I was the happiest woman on Earth. And the days that followed that moment will for sure remain in my mind forever as one of my best 10 memories!
I thought the people in this site deserved to know that online relationships are not only words in your incoming e-mail: they can also be stories of people of flesh and blood with real emotions. Thank you Friend Finder!

I met my man through here in January ('99)...In May, I moved in with him in his house, and we were talking about getting married...
In August, we found out that we were expecting a baby...a little boy. We talked about getting married long before I got pregnant, but we had to put it off until November, because neither one of us had time to spare to get married....
And then in November of 1999, we both had a day off, and we went to the county courthouse, and got married -- I was already 4 and a half months pregnant (and showing a little bit). We've now been married for 4 months, and our baby is already here (born Feb 21st, 2000), and we couldn't be happier!
Meeting my husband was the best thing that has ever happened to me (as well as the birth of our baby boy). I'm the happiest I've ever been....and I owe it all to you guys at Friend Finder!!

I had forgotten that I was a member of Friend Finder. I had not even used this sevice for about 6 months. I had pretty much just decided that making my kids lives as pleasant as possible was going to be the only highlight for the rest of my life, when I received a message from coloblonde. We wrote back and forth for awhile and finally got around to chatting online. Major internet/keyboard time. We hit it off from the very start. The more we chatted, the more we found we had in common. A short time later we exchanged phone numbers, and let me just say this, I feel sorry for anyone who has phone bills as large as ours. A few weeks later, I had a business trip scheduled in the city she worked in and we decided to go out for lunch. It was electric!!! Amazing!!! I was saying "Oh my God", as she was thanking him. Love at first sight and all of that other good stuff. I can't even begin to describe how well things went. Even the people at the restaurant could sense something wonderful was happening, and it seemed they were ALL smiling at us. We progressed from there, went out a few times, slowly integrated our kids into the picture. Everything has gone as perfect as anyone could hope for, to the point we will be getting married in July of this year. Our many thanks to Friend Finder, for giving us a way to meet and develop the relationship we have.

I placed my ad back in July of 1999. Though I had quite a few responses, none of them were what I was looking for. I began to think that placing this ad was a silly waste of time. In November, Illyrian answered my ad. After checking out his profile, I thought he was cute, but I didn't feel I was what he was looking for. I responded to his first e-mail, but didn't reply to the next two because I didn't think there was any real potential. He then sent one last email saying
"thanx anyway and good luck to you". My roommate decided to respond, gave him my screen name, and got us talking on instant messenger. After a couple of weeks, I agreed to meet him. He took me to a nice restraunt and I knew right away that we had a connection. Thanks!

I was very lonely and I decided to try Friend Finder. I was browsing one night and found a guy who lived in a town near me. I emailed him. We corresponded a few times and had dates on several occassions to chat online. He sent me his phone number. I got to get to know him on the phone. We talked for about 3 weeks. August 25, 1999, was our first actual meeting.
We met in the park. It was love at first sight for me. We had our first offical date the next night (Friday). We have now been together non-stop. We are inseparable. We are planning on getting married, building a house, and expanding our family. If it wasn't for Friend Finder I probably still would be searching for him. All I can say is thank you for helping me find the man of my dreams.

I found one young lady in the Phillipines who kept in contact with me. I eventualy gave her my phone number and told her she could call me collect. A few days later she did. I am going to the Phillipines in the middle of March to meet her. And start procedings to bring her back to America. If our meeting goes the way we both think it will, I am going to ask her to marry me. When that happens, I will tell Friend Finder. Everything so far is very positive. So Friend Finder I

I was browsing one day and came across a guy who sounded really sweet. He was 4 years younger than me...I was 23, so I was almost not going to write to him... but then I saw that he had signed off as ice. My nickname is icyblu.
I thought it must be some kind of sign...and anyway, I had nothing to lose! So I emailed him. We emailed for a few weeks and then met up. We both lived in the same city so that made things easy.
I was still very cautious as I had undergone a painful breakup from a long term relationship in February of that year (1999).
But on our third date, we went ice skating. Afterwards we stopped to admire the stars in a park. We were sitting there, and began to kiss...a few seconds later the football field behind the park erupted with the sound and light of a small fireworks display!! We were amazed! What a cliche!
After that I started realizing more and more that he was the one for me. And the fireworks just had to be some sort of sign!!
Today we are living together and couldn't be happier. We really have found true love!

This name is only to find penpals) We met on December 5th in his hospital room, because the night before, he hit a tree head-on on his way to meet me. When I saw him lying in that hospital bed, the cast on his leg, the swollen lip (which had stitches from his lower lip to his chin), black eye, and bruises, none of that mattered to me. His stitches are long gone, the cast was taken of just 2 days ago, and the
